Proposed Program
We have 2 options based on aim and availability that last 1 to 3 months:
“Art History Professional Certificate" through its distinct formal and philosophical phases, including site visits (12 weeks, full day classes on Mondays and Tuesdays, with Autumn intake). An "Art Business Professional Certificate" can also be included to understand key players, infrastructure and history of the global art market (adding full day classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays).
Short Courses, via multiple intensive, 5-day courses across a range of topics for 4 weeks. With a dynamic and comprehensive portfolio of courses, Sotheby's Institute of Art is sure to offer an amazing learning experience to suit your interests.

Goal Orientation
Time permitting, an Art History Professional Certificate and Art Business Professional Certificate would be the ideal goal over 3 months. Alternatively, a series of short courses would expand one’s knowledge of art across a wide spectrum. Whichever route you choose, it will be an enriching learning experience from the world's preeminent art institution located in one of the art world's greatest cities.
Accommodation
52 Cornwall Gardens, London SW7 4BG
Owned by Sabbaticals.com, this recently renovated flat is located on a quiet street in South Kensington, in what feels like a friendly village within walking distance of Kensington Gardens. With private entrance, it has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living room and outside terrace. The commute to Sotheby's takes 40 minutes by underground transportation.
As for shopping, Whole Foods is a pleasant 10 minute walk away on Kensington High Street, while Waitrose is even closer on Gloucester Road, connecting to the Gloucester Road tube station.
If this flat does not suit your purposes, we will provide a selection of alternatives from Expedia (VRBO) with similar premium quality.
Mentor & Concierge
To get the most out of your experience, you will have a mentor and concierge both based in London.
Your mentor is a professional in the art world and former Sotheby's Institute of Art student, who can advise and encourage you along the way. What's more, they will introduce you to the dynamic art scene in London, including museum exhibits, special events and "off the beaten" path experiences.
Your concierge is a hospitality professional who can help you in a range of areas, including airport transfer, settling in to your chosen accommodation, neighborhood highlights and general advice for living in London. They can also help you arrange side trips and other travel activities.

London has a lively and constantly evolving art scene that is widely regarded as one of the best in the world. With famous museums like the National Gallery, Tate Modern and Saatchi Gallery, it’s no surprise that students, enthusiasts, collectors and artists themselves come to the city. This thriving community ensures a steady slate of experiences, including events, exhibitions and fairs throughout the year.
Your mentor will also be on call to help reinforce art history learning, as well as help you navigate the many things going on in the local art scene to get the most out of your stay.
Your concierge will also be happy to recommend local restaurants and activities, arrange travel and tours, and generally ensure your sabbatical goes smoothly.

Sabbaticals.com works with leading learning institutions to ensure outstanding programs and rates. We also work closely with VRBO on curated accommodation options with negotiated pricing given longer term stays. Lastly, we have built local support teams with expertise to make every sabbatical worry-free. In short, we have brought together all elements of the perfect sabbatical into one comprehensive package for your convenience.
The 1-month "Short Courses" package is roughly US$20,000, depending on accommodation option and assuming 3 short courses of 5 days each.
The 3-month "Art History Professional Certificate" package is roughly US$45,000, depending on accommodation option.

Your package includes...
Planning
We will work with you to define your sabbatical objectives, including the activities needed to achieve your goals. We'll also work with Sotheby's to design the right program and timing, especially for the Short Courses option.
Community
You will be provided membership to BreakSpace, a community of like-minded professionals planning work breaks, including resources, tools and support throughout your sabbatical journey.
Tuition
Sabbaticals.com will work with you to design the ideal curriculum, then lead Sotheby's program registration on your behalf. With all the preparation taken care of, you need only arrive on Day 1 to begin your course.
Accommodation
We will provide a choice of 3 accommodation options for your sabbatical, which we have intimate knowledge of to ensure a premium level of quality. Accommodation will be suited to a long-term stay and convenient to the school location.
Coaching (additional fee)
If desired, we will connect you to our partner, Beyond A Break, to receive Personal Coaching throughout your sabbatical journey. Your coach will provide ongoing consulting, as well as tools to help you through the personal growth a sabbatical provides.
Support
We will match you with a local mentor and concierge to help throughout the duration of your sabbatical. Your mentor will be available to meet weekly, while your concierge will be on hand for ad hoc services as needed.
